Commissioner's opening

Welcome back to Watch the Throne, where the belt is real, the receipts are permanent, and Week 1 has already made several preseason opinions legally inadvisable. No Maam remains the reigning champion and opened with a 109-78 defense of the premises.

Week 1 is officially in the books. No Maam defended the throne, The Muscle Team arrived with a flamethrower, and several preseason evaluations aged like milk in a parked car. One week is evidence, not a complete conviction, but the league now has enough evidence to begin questioning witnesses.

Every Matchup, Properly Questioned

No Maam 109, DSIZZLE INYAMOUTH34 78

No Maam beat the original one-point favorite by 31 behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 21, Chris Olave's 20, Isaiah Likely's 19, and 14 from Seattle's defense. DSIZZLE got 23 from Bijan Robinson and 19 from Breece Hall, but four low-output starters combined for seven.

Christian Watson's 31, Kyle Monangai's 22, and Tyler Shough's 25 stayed on No Maam's bench. The belt stayed home, but the lineup card has been placed under review.

Show Me Your TD's 118, Nabers think I'm selling dope 75

SMYTD's delivered the cleanest balanced win in the Heroes Division: Jalen Hurts scored 25, Justin Jefferson 23, Trey McBride 15, Chase Brown 13, Bucky Irving 12, and Mike Evans 10. Nabers received 30 from Jahmyr Gibbs and 17 from Jayden Daniels, then very little assistance.

SMYTD's beat projection by 27 and looks repeatable. Nabers needs healthy secondary stars before Gibbs files for sole proprietorship.

No Vaseline 83, Bench Don't Kill My Vibe 61

No Vaseline won behind DJ Moore's 19, Amon-Ra St. Brown's 18, and Evan McPherson's 17. Bench received 19 from Javonte Williams and 14 from Jacksonville's defense while Bo Nix scored five and Ja'Marr Chase scored one.

No Vaseline finished below league average and still won by 22 because Bench missed projection by 37. The win is valid. The parade route is not.

The Muscle Team 138, Big Dog Squad 89

Josh Allen scored 38, D'Andre Swift 33, Jonathan Taylor 21, Dalton Kincaid 15, and Parker Washington 14. Muscle beat projection by 47 and posted the week's highest total. Kenneth Walker III gave Big Dog 34, but four key teammates combined for 13.

The preseason desk ranked Muscle last and picked Big Dog. Muscle answered with a 49-point subpoena.

La Cosa Nostra 106, Black Mamba 92

La Cosa turned an 86-point projection into 106 with Zay Flowers at 26, Patrick Mahomes at 21, Pittsburgh's defense at 19, and Nico Collins at 13. Black Mamba got 25 each from Trevor Lawrence and David Montgomery, but its top three receivers combined for 14.

La Cosa looks deeper than advertised. Black Mamba needs its wide receivers to stop treating targets as optional reading.

P-TOWN PLAYAS 107, TP Hulk Smash 98

Ashton Jeanty scored 28, Dallas Goedert 20, Cam Skattebo 14, and Dak Prescott 14 for P-TOWN. TP Hulk got 35 from Derrick Henry and 28 from Lamar Jackson, while the other seven starters combined for 35.

P-TOWN won the closest game while Caleb Williams' 36 points sat on the bench. That is either championship depth or a future cry for help.
